And so it begins...

Welcome to the HEARTe blog!

HEARTe (https://www.heartelearning.org) is a free, easy to access  online resource aimed at healthcare workers who may be involved in the care and management of cardiac patients but who are not cardiac specialists. There are currently eight modules available, covering a range of topics relating to cardiology, with another five under development and due to be launched in November 2016. These are:
  • Hypertension
  • Cardiac Investigations II
  • Inherited & Congenital Cardiac Disease
  • Psychological Impact of Cardiac Disease
  • Multiple Conditions and Cardiac Disease.
Our blog will follow the development journey of these modules.  You can expect regular posts from us, covering a range of issues.  Coming up in the near future will be guest blogs on:
  • Managing the development of an e-learning project
  • Being a member of an authoring team for a module
  • Working on the interactive elements of an e-learning module
We'd love to hear from you about your experiences of undertaking any of the HEARTe modules already available, particularly about any impact they may have made on your clinical practice, so please get in touch and let us know your thoughts.

In addition, we'll be posting any relevant guidelines or policy documents for you to access and discuss, so look out for the revised cardiac SIGN guidelines appearing, as they are published.
